Frankfurt Airport – Europe’s third-largest air-traffic hub handling over 60 million passengers annually – needed a robust, integrated system to manage ID cards, secure gates, and streamline critical processes. With 81,000+ employees and strict & stringent legal requirements (e.g., Schengen Agreement), Fraport AG sought a flexible, scalable solution that could be implemented without disrupting day-to-day airport operations.
The Solution
Primion delivered a customised platform encompassing Gate Access (GAS), Badge Management (AVS), and Time & Attendance.
These solutions coordinate access control readers, gate management terminals, and ID card workflows, ensuring real-time visibility of flight schedules, staff authorisations, and security-critical areas. By integrating all data – flight delays, inbound/outbound changes, and Schengen vs. Non-Schengen requirements – into one command centre, Fraport’s team maintains continuous oversight with minimal manual intervention.
